This does not appear to be an issues with Conductors. Rather, there is something wrong with the View.Model attached property when it is applied by convention. If it is applied explicitly in Xaml, everything works fine. If it is applied by convention, then the incorrect behavior you describe occurs. As a temporary work around, apply the composition explicitly in this scenario. I'm going to investigate further to see what could be causing this.

Confirmed that the problem does not occur in Caliburn.Micro. Caliburn and Caliburn.Micro have identical Conductor/Screen code, but different convention implementations. Investigating further.

I'm experiencing the same problem. Can you give more details on how to explicitly do this ?
